I recently had the pleasure of mentoring a middle school student on footwear design. The goal was to reintroduce an old school brand with modern materials and technologies. He chose FILA. After 2 weeks of researching the origin of the brand, the current marketplace and several rounds of ideation sketches, this is what we came up with. The FILA A.N.T. features a “SuperKnit” upper, “Cloud” midsole foam with Pirelli inspired flex grooves, and a car door-inspired quarter lace closure. Proud word mark and classic branding make it unmistakably FILA.
